Simple Tips In Electrical Installation Earthing And Bonding

Posted by Admin on September, 26, 2011

In-depth knowledge and skills about earthing and bonding are necessary when dealing with the electricity. We’ll explain the basics about bonding as well as earthing.
Earthing

The Earth is electrically neutral. Therefore, a flow of current will result when any voltage is connected from the Earth. The direction of this flow depends upon the positivity or negativity of the voltage. The current will flow back and forth from the Earth at a frequency of 50Hz in case of AC voltages. The Earth can also behave as a sponge for excess electricity as we witness in the case of lightening.
In practical terms, every electrical circuit that is connected to Earth will always send current through the earth connection. To ensure safety, Earthing Equipment that has been broken down makes use of this phenomenon only. For instance, if a generator having a metal casing becomes faulty, its cables are loosened. Now, in order to protect any human from getting electrocuted in case s/he touches the metal casing, an earth connection is pre-installed in the Earthing Equipment. But this doesn’t ensure complete safety. Therefore, a circuit breaker or a fuse is also installed. This dual process of circuit breaking and earthing prevents the users completely from the electric shocks.
Bonding
Bonding is required if there are any metal pipes in a building. The process of bonding includes the connection of all the metal components together through a conductive path, which is further connected to Earth. Since two metals that are in proximity can build up electric current, bonding is necessary. Connecting them eradicates the risk of any danger.
Bonding conductors are necessary for the installation of the following:
  • Metal central heating and air conditioning systems
  • Metal gas installation pipes
  • Exposed metal structural parts of the building
  • Metal water service pipes
  • Lightning protection systems
  • Other metal service pipes and ducting
People looking for the Earthing Equipment or the Bonding Conductors can easily find them online. The numerous online vendors are reliable, and owing to their expertise in the domain, they can provide you with a lot of services as well as tips.

Heya! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers?

My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up
losing many months of hard work due to no back up.

Do you have any solutions to prevent hackers?
